HIRC Protection technology

This technology is based on our High Impact Resistant Composite (HIRC) patent. The walls/panels can be designed to protect any structure against hostile actions from projectiles, fragments and blasts. Existing structures can be retrofitted to a specific level of protection or the HIRC-technology can be used as prefabricated concrete elements in new structures.

The protection level for Composhield’s HIRC-panels is unlimited, but it has been tested up to a 155-mm artillery shell. It can be used to secure parking basements for car bombs, etc. The panel structure is based on a three-dimensional reinforcement imbedded in a high-strength matrix.

The panels can be designed to protect almost any structure against hostile actions from projectiles, fragments and blast. Existing structures can be retrofitted to a specific level of protection or the HIRC-technology can be integrated in prefabricated concrete elements.
